About Alex
Hi! I am an Assistant Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology. I investigate in areas of User-Centred Design and Human Behaviour on the Web, to improve digital content accessibility and interactive and assistive technologies.

Alex comes from the tiny red dot in the world, Singapore. He speaks several languages, including English, Mandarin and Teochew. He did all his education in Singapore before his National Service, and in 2004, Alex headed to the United Kingdom for his undergraduate studies. Unexpectedly, he continued his Masters and PhD and worked in the United Kingdom for nine and a half years. Alex was a Research Fellow at the Nanyang Technological University and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Carnegie Mellon University, USA, before returning to Singapore in November 2016.
Since returning to Singapore, Alex has been an Assistant Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology. In 2023, he was awarded the Singapore Biodesign Fellowship, where he was trained in biodesign principles and went on overseas immersion trips to Tsinghua University in China and Stanford University in the USA.
